China Rubber Days

Driving sustainable growth through
high-tech innovation

LANXESS hosted its first-ever ‘China Rubber Days’ from June 28 to 29, 2010, in Macau, Greater China, themed ‘Driving sustainable growth through high-tech innovation’.

 

During the event LANXESS could effectively demonstrate its technological expertise and its pioneering role in the manufacture of high-performance rubbers. Close to 400 representatives from industry, universities and the media atttended the China Rubber Days and learned more about synthetic rubber and the booming market in China.

 

Dr. Axel C. Heitmann, Chairman of the LANXESS Board of Management and Professor Ma Lian Xiang, Dean of the Qingdao University of Science and Technology – were among many of the distinguished guests, who delivered keynote speeches at the event. In addition, there were numerous product presentations as well as panel discussions hosted by senior executives from LANXESS.

 

The conference was facilitated by China Business News TV anchors, Yuan Yue and Kathy Cui Yan, who struck a perfect balance between speeches, panel discussions and product and applications exhibitions.

Kathy Cui is an award winning Chinese-English bilingual TV anchor and producer for China Business Network (CBN), a leading business media company and CNBC’s strategic partner in China.

Kathy was the winner of the Gold Microphone Award in 2006, the highest official award for TV anchors in China. In 2007 she was also ranked amongst the top 10 Most Outstanding Economic Young People in Shanghai, a distinguished honor for outstanding young entrepreneurs and business professionals. She also won the CNN World Report Annual Award in 2000 and the First Class China Journalism Award in 2001 for 2 cross-border news reports.

Kathy is a Chevening scholar who was sponsored by the UK government, achieving a Masters in Management from London School of Economics (LSE). She has also received professional TV journalism and production training at CNN International in Atlanta, USA, and CNBC Asia in Singapore.

Yuan holds a Doctorate from Beijng University.  Focus areas for Yuan’s research include industrial economics, branding, marketing, organizational Management, leadership, and crisis management.  

Yuan is the founder and chairman of Horizon Research Consultancy Group, which is the China's biggest independent professional research and consultancy firm conducting public opinion polling.  Additionally, Yuan acts at the TV anchor for one of popular programs - “brain storming” hosted by China Business News TV Channel.
